What a year it has been already! Four days in and straight into another national lockdown. Despite a different kind of Christmas and a less social start to 2021, the team at Studio Mix remains determined to embrace the new year positively and proactively. Afterall, we cannot control the pandemic but we can take plenty of action now to plan ahead and control the beginnings of a brighter future. Here is how we have been channelling our determination to create a difference in 2021:

Planting a Tree

Fact: there are not enough trees to fight the ongoing battle against climate change, yet these gentle giants are the planet’s greatest warriors to tackle the problem. To support the Woodland Trust’s Big Climate Fightback campaign to get millions more trees in the ground, Studio Mix Founder, Katy Maxwell, gladly donned her gardening gloves, rolled up her sleeves, and planted a tree. “It’s the little things we can all do to make a big difference where is really matters. I have always supported the Woodland Trust and its campaigns to plant, protect and restore woods and trees. It’s so simple to help in their Big Climate Fightback, and so positive to know that every tree counts in tackling the climate crisis. In the words of Sir David Attenborough last year in his witness statement and vision for the future, “nature is our biggest ally and our greatest inspiration.” There is so much we should take from these words right now.” Katy Maxwell

Supporting Local Charities

There are two charities we particularly love and are proud to support with an annual donation to kickstart the year. Billy Chip, located near Bristol, delivers ‘kindness, compassion and a free hot drink to homeless people’ using a unique currency (the Billy Chip) to encourage people to donate to homeless people on the street. Studio Mix has also supported The Salvation Army’s Winter Appeal to help people facing hardship and loneliness at one of the most challenging times of the year. Do you have a charity or local cause close to your heart?

Buy Less and Buy to Last

A new year, a new set of resolutions. And why now? Resolutions are goals and goals mean clarity. They give us meaning, make us feel good and keep us connected which we think is pretty important right now.   That’s why we’re compelled to keep one resolution this year, inspired by Triodos UK. As leaders in sustainable banking, Triodos is urging us all to take action in 2021 with an eco-friendly resolution that makes an impact. Planting a tree was one resolution ticked off the Studio Mix list, and the other pledge is to buy less and buy to last, keeping quality at the forefront of the future decisions we make.

Planning your year ahead? Keep in touch if you are looking to refresh your brand, develop new designs, or communicate more creatively to your customers. We would love to hear from you at hello@studiomix.co.uk.
